i kinda know members of this forum are quite lax and relaxed about overcalls but what do you think of this 2C?
Knowing GUBBO i bet the length in diamonds spurred it to bid 2C.
Maybe just sour grapes for me since it went for a number.....

I would make that call with a partner who understood that we were just trying to keep them out of that cozy 2X nook and opps who don't go for blood at low level

Well, it's maybe worth a shot for lead direction. I'd consider it NV but wouldn't make the bid when vulnerable.

You didnt say if this is mp or imps
if this is mp and you haven't made a worse overcall you are getting walked all over.

I doubt Gib's programming recognizes danger of a 2-level overcall here. It just counts it points sees 10 hcp and a good suitt and bids.
in any case as little as JH extra in west hand and -1
switch KS and AS too and now it makes and bidding will likely be the same. Support doubles show no extra strength.
So while leaving in double may be a good odds there is no guarantee.
Sarcasm is a state of mind

I wouldn't. I'm super aggressive at 1 level, harder to get you, and you are higher ranking suit so easier to buy it at two level or push them higher. 2 level vul, lower ranking suit, after they've exchanged more info, has a different risk/reward mix.

this was moneybridge therefore assume IMPS. at MPs I have no issue.
Generally GUBBO has a stiff and/or length in opps' suit.
This time 2 doubletons.

I'd say bad overcall at moneybridge.
