Why is BBO not joining in with other bridge clubs and holding a tournament on Friday to benefit The Longest Day Alzhiemers Association. They could raise a lot of money to a cause many bridge players have a close relationship to.

The expect that the answer is something like the following:

BBO does not run / sponsor tournaments.
BBO provides online facilities that third parties can use to run tournaments.

There are multiple different entities out there that have the capability to use BBO to run tournament on Friday and charge $$$ for doing so.
None of them have chosen to run an event.

If you believe that there should be a tournament on Friday, you should contact one of these entities. Personally, I'd choose one that people might have a reason to trust cause if I saw Joe Bob's Bridge Club running a charity event, I'd be suspicious where the money was going. (Is probably a bit late)

I know that the ACBL has run some events in the past.
I suspect that there management might be a bit distracted this year.
