pretty weird looking splinter bid. Yes my 2d is a tad light.

Don't know why it wants to support diamonds instead of clubs. That would make more sense with 4243 shape, not 4144, IMO.
Then it's just totally weird, don't know why it wouldn't want to just blkwood and force to slam with all those great minor cards.

Can't splinter with 5 because that forces you to slam. GIB probably figured you could figure it out which suit was the splinter. Clever bidding by GIB to avoid forcing to slam.

strange. However isn't your bid 3H to bid out your shape. Am sure if it had bid 3C that is what it normally does. Perhaps applies when the bid is 3D as well. after that no clue what would happen. or perhaps 3H would be a cuebid. doubt it though.

2D is not light in my experience with GUBBO.
why not 6D over 5C. magnificent controls all around and "it" does show 13.

I don't know if 3H should be routine to show shape. That's probably how GIB plays it, but to me there is something to be said for playing it as a 3nt stopper grope with something along the lines of x Jx AKxx AKQxxx or Ax xx AQxx AKxxx.

my experience is it is considered as fragment + stopper.

Yeah, I know, I'm arguing that 3nt should show that instead, because then you have no bid for fragment *without* stopper. You commit to the 11 trick game which may be a lot harder than 9.
