Another grand slam debacle

I would be trying to take control of the auction with blackwood rather than 5H - it just feels less likely to end up with GIB jumping to a grand.

I don't care about how to get good results playing with GIB or how to circumvent GIB's weaknesses. I use this forum to attempt to help the GIB team identify issues. The 7 bid is probably a bug or misconfiguration of some kind. Maybe it's easy to fix. Maybe it isn't.

But, with regard to the use of Blackwood, GIB is showing 74 in the red suits which means it's quite possible it has a void in either spades or clubs. I would rather give up on a grand in this situation and just invite slam based on trump quality. Blackwood is too likely to produce a jump to slam showing a void when it has poor trump quality.

Why go beyond 3NT? you have shown your hand and GUBBO has said no. case closed I would think.
