This might be the most egregious example of not taking a preference I've seen so far.

On the plus side, GIB West didn't jump to 4♠ so we're making progress.

GIBBO wants to play 2Sx. This was taken out to ratty d suit. Punishment follows because in GIB's addled mind you have 8D and 5H.
Seriously tho why not pass 2sx. Agree I would too 'cos I don't trust GIBBO yet something to think about.
Similar has happened to me at the 1 level 1x-dbl-redbl-p(gibby) and was sitting there with 5 or 6 x.
