Am I correct in my understanding that the new ABF system regulations permit me to open 1C clubs or balanced as long as a hand with 5D opens 1D

Not quite. The regulations talk about system classification, and now "clubs or balanced" is green if it doesn't have 5 diamonds. This is less strict than before, where the system you suggest would have been red.

You can play whatever you like though. There are restrictions on yellow systems, but none on red.

Eh yeah sorry I mean do the green sticker openings let me open 1C clubs or balanced.

Shame about the 5332 hands with diamonds but everything else is great.
