Why does East bid 4S rather than 4H in the final round?

This was in money-bridge.

VERY bizarre. When you have 5+ 5+ for some reason the second suit always becomes "twice re-biddable" and GIBBO NEVER makes the right choice. It always assumes some canape crap almost. If it has stiff NEVER believes you have double stopper. Will take it out usually into the wrong place.

my sympathies.

I think Gibs definitions of rebiddable suits etc is counterproductive.
Often you just have to show your distribution and if the suit isn't good enough quality that is just tough you still have to bid it.

Yeah, that's pretty bad. Basic GIB passes 3NT, so maybe when simulating it was just trying to decide between 4 and 4 and didn't think that the former could be corrected to 4.. or maybe all of its simulated hands just had you holding spades. Who knows.

Passing 3N is better than 4. 4 is at best a 5-2 fit.
Anyone know what the description for 4 would have been?
