Team Match, K/O
W is known for making very sound preempts.

A very clear pass. (Also with Kxx 432 KJx AQxx because of LoTT.)

Difficult to judge. Can we take 7 tricks? Partner is an unpassed hand. May be 3nt is making.

I would also pass, though perhaps with a few worries.... But the sounder West's pre-empt, the fewer points I can expect to see in dummy, and therefore perhaps the fewer entries to allow my hand to be finessed.

Pass. A sound preempt means dummy will have LESS hearts to finesse us with.

You'd trade a very likely 500 for a speculative 600 I assume?

I would absolutely pass, although given the hint in the OP i'm guessing it's wrong. 3N just seems really bad on these cards

Partner's double has to show values at this level because with any bid you make means you're playing it at least at 3 or higher.

At all red, preemptor likely has AQ10 seven or eight times, so dummy can't lead through you enough times to pick up all your .

Beside that, you hold 2 other QTs. So you're looking at something like at least 3 or 4 tricks in hand. 3 x seems like it will go set something with partner showing values. Infrequently, you might find the opponents with perfect hands making, but the great majority of the time you're going to be positive.

Bidding nothing seems a clear place to play

So this hand seems to be one where you take your positive and move on.

Pass and hopefully sans a nasty grin on my face while sharpening my axe. While I would not pass in a zillion years with something like Kxx xxx KJx AQxx this hand screams lets try to win the match on this hand. Bad breaks probably abound so trying for 3n carries a lot of risk for not that much reward. Setting 3h 1 should be trivial pursuit and depending on what kind of card p owns (ie aces vs queens) this could easily bring - 3 or 4 vs nothing for us since there is a good chance lefty will have to play the entire contract from their hand.
Even sound preemptors run into bad breaks occasionally so lets take advantage of their misfortune.
