Hi substitute players,
my suggestion is that when declaring willingness to substitute any tournaments, you don't have addtional options. What about options like: I will participate any IMP tournament, or I will participate any MP tournament, or scoring doees not matter, willing to participate any way.

as a substitute you can offer to join a specific tournament, not just all tournaments. you can offer as many tournaments as you want.

Actually much more subs refuse to play as did some years ago. I often have to ask more than 10 players until one is accepting. I guess that happens as they do not really want to play in any tourney and are waiting for a better fitting request. Additional options could help not only the players but the directors as well.

What options could that be?
Scoring (IMP/MP)
Pairs/Individual/Team
Goulash/Pay tourneys
Maximum number of boards to be played

Maybe this is the wrong sub forum

Suggestions:

How about if one says no to subbing for a particular tourney that the software does not ask us again right away.

But to me, the most important distinction is subbing for team game. I do not like subbing for team game as quite often the score is so lopsided that the game does not make it to the end. Sooner or later, someone else drops out and the whole game disbands.

The other stat I like to see is the completion percentage for boards and tournaments of my partner when I am offer an opportunity to sub.
