When looking at Money Bridge hand records,
http://online.bridge.../mb/mbadmin.php
in the list of items displayed, there is a link to each deal.

But when I click it, the browser will not show the deal directly,
but download a .lin-file.
I can then take a copy of that file's contents, and in text-editor
construct a hand-viewer link to see the full deal. But cumbersome.

Why is it like this?
Is that intentional or just a mistake in the construction of the links, or what?

Why isn't there just a link that will display the deal directly
in the hand-viewer without this cumbersome workaround?

Money bridge hands are not stored in the database where the handviewer can retrieve them.

Ok, got it.
But then seems it should be possible to generate an extra link to a javascript-function with each deal,
that takes the .lin filename as an argument,
reads the contents of the .lin-file,
constructs the correct handviewer link,
and responds with a redirect to that link.

I e automating what we now need to do manually, right?

Yes, it should be possible, we just haven't done it.

This is done. There's now two links, Movie and Lin. They work similar to the links on the myhands page: Movie pops up a handviewer, Lin downloads a LIN file.
