"definitely that's what I like to play when I'm playing standard - I want to be able to bid diamonds because bidding good suits is important in bridge" - Meckstroth's opinion on weak 2 diamond

Double - expecting partner to pass unless (s)he has genuine prospect of making a contract.

oh no, dbl is take-out. On a really bad day we will end up in a 4-3 fit in hearts. A 5-2 fit in diamonds is not great either.

We could double and then correct 2 (edit: oops, 4) to 4 but I prefer just to set 4 undoubled. +200 is usually OK at matchpoints.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

If we're allowing insufficient bids, I'll try 3NT.

If not... pass, I guess. Shape is too flat. We could miss 4S but bidding/doubling is too likely to turn a plus into a minus.

eagles123 problem:

I rank
1. Double = Tim Rees says a high-level double shows whatever cards you hold.
2. 4 = Assuming partner has roughly his expectation of s and HCP.
3. Pass = Wank could well be right.

This hand is just a guessing game.
Pass. Best chance for a plus score.

I would double, but I have no idea how to play MPs.
