I learnt this as every good boy deserves football together with faces-spaces. Maybe the switch to fudge reflects a change in society between then and now.

Following on, apparently the "good boy" constructs are seen in some quarters as sexist and the new way of doing this is gender-neutral, such as elephants get big dirty feet. That certainly does reflect a change in society.

I learned it (from my mom, who was a professional musician) as "every good boy does fine," but she did not like football. B-)
