Last weekend I played an instant tournament and had the following sequence:

1D 1H
2N 3D
3N 4N

Which dummy was advertised as (among other things), "14 HCP".

I plowed into 6N (MPs) only to find 12 in dummy which was mildly annoying. 6D would have been fine.

My question is when GIB updates are made, are the changes just hard coded or is there built-in logic? Clearly there's a disconnect between the explanation and the actual hand.

But it seems like defect reports could self-generating. Why not built in an automated audit between the actual explanation and the provided hand?
