Typing in Chat

I am unable to type in the chat box and have it seen. It makes it difficult to communicate with my "casual" partner and/or compliment either partner or opponents. . . can someone help me find out what I have missing. . . Thanks!!

Do you happen to use Safari as your browser?

I've seen this happen with the Safari browser. If you can use Chrome or some other browsers you should be able to chat.
