Playing 2/1 maybe N should have bid 2NT. 3C was gameforcing and his raise to 4 was not Blackwood.
S argued that N should have raised 5to slam but N took it as no interest in slam. Shouldnt S make
a cuebid on the 4 level if he was interested in slam ?

Is 3 FG ?

If so, 4 should be better than 5 and S should simply blackwood.

Edit: 4 would be my blackwood bid.

Or start cuebidding. But yes, in my understanding fast arrival applies here and so 4 shows a good hand in context.

Yes.

added later: but should convince partner of the merits of control bidding.

North's bid the hand correctly. Expecting North to bid slam with that scraggly 10 opposite an unknown but big South hand is not reasonable. It's impossible for North to know even if 5 will make.

South has the hand with all the controls and can see that slam may be possible opposite the right maximum 1 NT call. So South has to be the one to initiate slam exploration.

North's 4 call is positive. Once you get there, it becomes difficult to see how you can get the right information for getting to slam without getting too high. If you are stuck with 4 NT as your RKC bid, then you might get too high if North has 1 or 0 key cards. If you have some other way of asking below 4 NT, then South can ask and go on after 2 keys are shown.

Hi,

North should never raise 5C to 6C, he has no idea, if the 5C was a gamble
or what ever.

If South has SI, he has to show it, which he never did.

With kind regards
Marlowe

PS: I prefer 3S instead of 4C by North, this may not get you to slam, but
you may sometimes reach 3NT, when 5C is down.
With kind regards

If South had only one call after 4 it would be 6, which is a good indication of how poor 5 was. By default 4 is a slam try and 5 denies interest, although there are other ways of playing that I personally prefer.

South also had a completely different way of bidding the hand that would also have reached slam, in treating the hand as ~22 balanced. This is often a good option with a 4441 hand and a singleton honour,

One final option is to incorporate a gadget into your system that handles strong 3-suiters. There are many different alternative ways of doing this but, once again, any of these should allow North to reach 6 comfortably.
