If X showed club support, I'll bid 5. 4 looks likely to make and we're certainly not getting rich defending it; I'd guess 5 will be odds against but with some play.

5, on a good day slam might make.

I rank
  • 4N = T/O. Attempt to right-side contract.
  • Double = Competitive.
  • 5 = NAT
  • 5 = CUE but might exagerate holding.

I'd like to bid 4NT and show a *good* 5C bid (e.g. planning to make, mild slam interest).

The problem with 4NT is that it is undiscussed, all of Keycard, minors and natural make some sense to me. Probably minors, but then, why do we need to ask for minors when partner doubled 5?.

Double here shouldn't be pure penalty, just show ownership of the hand.

I think 4N is key card.

X ("takeout"). Even if partner's double shows support, I'm not going to bid 5 on my own with only 18-19 total trumps. (Whether 5 makes is largely irrelevant.)
