MP, Instant, 35

The truncated narrative on South's X of 3H finishes with "forcing to 3N". Why is North not permitted to pass?

I am not saying that it is the correct choice on these cards, nor even that X is the best long term option by South, even if non-forcing (although it happens that on this hand defending 3HX is best). But to deny us ever having the opportunity to defend doubled?
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mPosted ImagesPosted ImagetPosted Imager-mPosted ImagendPosted Imageing) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

"I will be with you, whatever". Blair to Bush, precursor to invasion of Iraq

IMO "forcing to <level><denomination>" just means you shouldn't pass a lower undoubled contract by either side.

Yes, looking at the description here (if it is correct) the X doesnt really show anything other than a couple of points more than 2H did.
It doesnt say "penalty double", "biddable hearts" or even "2+".
So understandable if North continues to bid -- not because the X is "forcing", but simply because the simulation does not show that 3H is likely to go down.

What I feel is a recurring issue when playing with Gib, like this situation, is that you sometimes really dont know what your own bid or Gib's bid really means to the robots.

On this hand,
is it that the bidding-system - as described in the database - is kind of defect and the X actually means what the description say (i.e. almost nothing)?

Or is it just the description that is wrong/incomplete and the bid actually has some more meaning to the robots than what the description says?
