(2)-x-(6)-pass?

I suppose it should be forcing if they bid 5 although that could occasionally be exploited. After 4 it obviously isn't forcing. What about 7?

Personally, I wouldn't expect partner to treat pass as forcing over a raise to 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7. I'm sure it would be nice on occasion to know that pass was forcing, though....

Agree with WellSpyder, IMO, pass is forcing when we have reached game on power, or when we clearly have the balance of the points e.g. after you open at the one-level and partner
  • bids a new suit at the two level or
  • bids 2N (Jacoby) or
  • opponents interfere and partner cue-bids their suit.

Not forcing.

Pass of 4H and higher would be forcing only if RHO wereally a passed hand.

Pass means Pass.Where is the question of a forcing pass? .If one has nothing ,one does pass ,No? Or is one supposed to dbl with a Yarbrough ?

Yes, if pass were forcing that's exactly what partner does with a weak hand - even stronger than a yarb.

I do not get this. Pass being forcing here or when pd coming from pass sounds very off to me.
If 4-5-6 bidder is coming from pass, so am I.

Why on earth would anyone want to force partner over 4 or 5 or 6 ? Do I have to double with 3433 etc and 0-5 hcp? Maybe 1 opener has a giant. Just because responder is making a weak bid does not mean they are broke. Are you sure on your suggestion Phil?

And how can I possibly want this pass to be forcing when I am having hard time to construct a hand that wants to forcing pass but could not find a bid over 4?

Pass might be forcing red vs. white.

Not that it invalidates your post but it would be unusual if the 2 opener really had a giant.

You are right, for some reason I thought opener opened 1 when I made that reply. My bad.

I play a forcing pass if the initial double showed 25+ points. :)
