I guess the GIB doesn't like diamonds well played though

Advanced version at open table.
I would have thought it would be better for West to bid 2D if pulling the double at all. Also, why didn't East bid 2D instead of 2H? On the flipside, nicely played GIB :)

Are we all happy with East's 2nd X, showing 14+ TP after South has shown 18-19 HCP and West has already passed twice?

Well it's MP's and at favorable. N has also passed twice. The call I don't like is West's cuebid.

From the explanation it appears west thinks the cue bid is natural. It's as if the 1nt bid cancelled the opening bid and original meaning of the double.
