We get out of the habit of looking for this so quickly it seems. Plus getting hammered virtually every time we play against JEC does not help hehe. ANYWAY I will show up around 20 min early just in case you need someone. Are you sure it is 2pm? I noticed Sunday we had the indy at 3pm just want to verify.

Yes it's 2PM, JEC uses US time.

Indy was at 3PM bec I'm in Europe and I can't direct it at 7PM.

I emailed my partner yesterday about playing in this, but haven't had a reply yet. I would like to play either way though.

Edit: sorry, actually it looks like I will be sleeping then.

Well, I just got word back from my partner that she can't make it. I can still make it on BBO, if we can get a team together.

Lost by 57 after a good start, as usual :) I went loco towards the end, bid some crazy slams and games in a lone-ranger attempt to catch up so that quickly buried us from -20 to a less honorable -57.

Pretty amazing both declarers got the spade suit right early in a slam with 9xx opp AQxxx.

Thought the team was tough at the beginning, but we must remember the matches are 28 boards and the last counts as much as the first. Pace yourselves!

Don't know how the other declarer guessed the suit but at my table LHO played the J on the first round of spades, which to me meant she has JT(x), or a singleton, or Jx, or KJ. That didn't leave me a lot of choices on how to play. I suppose if she were really sneaky shd would have done that with KJx too, but decided to play her for JTx.
