What's your call at IMPs?

Would it differ over a 1S opening to your right in any other seats/vul/form of scoring?

i wouldn't call pass ridiculous, just extremely tame. 1nt is obv a capital crime.

Which option is best? no one. I think it actually depends on your bidding strategy.
- If you would take a conservative strategy, you would better pass since it should decrease its value especially without any stopper in in the 4333 pattern hand.
- If you would take a radical solution, you would better overcall 1NT, even there is not any stopper in , 1nt should be regarded as a best chance to win.

Double and yes I consider pass quite poor.

seems like a virtual wtp double to me, we have 15 points with adequate support for all other suits. If we pass we just deserve pard to have a random balanced ten count and for 1 spade to be passed out when we have a vul game on

Looking forward to your "I see everyone doubles, but I don't like it and I think I'm right and all of you are dead wrong." post coming soon...
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

There's more to bidding than right-siding 3N, and a 1N overcall works well in practice, in my experience.

Eh, I had a very weak preference for passing, but put it on here because I had no conviction about it, and the post mortem view was split 3-way between three competent players.

X>1NT>>Pass for me.

I will be robbed too often if I pass. I have 1NT strength in a flat hand but need a little help to stop .

I know. It was just based on my experience of Jinksy threads. Clearly I was wrong this time.

There is a MONSTROUS difference btn bidding 1n into the teeth of a known 5+ card suit (with no stopper) and doing the same over a 3+ card suit with no stopper. IMHO 1n may be right in values but it is horrific strategy, How many players would voluntarily open 1n in first seat if everyone at the table knew their rho had a 5+ card suit and an opening hand? That is what we face here and unless you lead a consistently charmed life there is little to love about walking into this probable death trap here. A simple x will get most hands out of the way quickly and quietly with far far less danger than 1n. Remember we have a partner and who knows maybe they have a spade stopper and can bid NT when they can see it.

Pass seems too timid though hardly horrific.

x=9 pass = 3.5 1n = 2 and will test the patience of most partners even when it works.

double I thought it was close to pass with 3 small spades but choose to be aggressive.

Agree pass is hardly horrific
