After responder has shown a positive response to our Swedish Club opening we have many ways of limiting responders hand. We play the same structure when responder is a passed hand, but now he obviously can not have 12+ hcp so he's in the 8-11 range.

When should responder show a max? Examples:

- When to cue bid instead of bidding non-serious 3NT?
- After 1C-1M; 2D (shows fit) we normally play that 2H shows 12+. What should it be when responder is a passed hand?

One idea I had is that responder has 6-7(8) QP when showing extras. What do you think of that?

For me the usual rules in these situation follow as - Do I regret making my bid before, and how much I have promised before hand. I figure Most likely control rich hands will be max - Although im not sure AKQ is a max, in those situations.

Unless you have a method for identifying specific cards, I would not use QPs. I would just divide my 8-11 between minimum and maximum, making adjustments for controls, shape, etc.
