I just don't understand the point of this X and GIB does it the whole time

ps I know I played bad it was early morning ;)

Its not completely horrible. odds are pretty good opps have ♣ fit so we should have one. However, its the job of the person short in ♣ to take an action. Doubling with 3♣ is asking for trouble.
