Yes you can.

Don't stack the unplayed boards with the played boards; put them on the floor leaning against a leg of the table. And the unplayed ones as well, if there are more than two boards in a round. I personally would never play with three boards on a table, but I do play with two because when playing 2-board rounds or the beginning or end of a Swiss round it's simpler.

Practically speaking, at an average ACBL club, the attitude will be "If you play an unfamiliar system like a strong club, opponents should be allowed to transmit and use some UI."
