I generally adopt the philosophy that if
1) Partner is still in there with a bid
2) I have already fully described my hand, and
3) I am not in a forcing situation or where Pass shows something explicit
then I will Pass and let partner take the final decision.
Until I now I thought that GIB operated under similar principles.
