MP Instant, ver 33

Granted that the system requires that I have a 4th Spade that I lack, and that I would have done rather better in the play by covering the D:T, ...

I don't think that 2H should be forcing to 3NT.
If it is forcing to 3NT, I don't think that North has a hand to justify that action.

How is South's double over 2D distinguished from an immediate double over 1H? Over 1H both opponents are unlimited. Over 2D they have actively denied game interest.

But for the fact that GIB will not rebid 1N with a singleton in responder's suit, we could have had a Heart fit, and in a F2F game I would have expected 2H to be natural.
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mPosted ImagesPosted ImagetPosted Imager-mPosted ImagendPosted Imageing) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

"Gentlemen, when the barrage lifts." 9th battalion, King's own Yorkshire light infantry,
2000 years earlier: "morituri te salutant"

"I will be with you, whatever". Blair to Bush, precursor to invasion of Iraq

One of the first topics discussed in detail when I first started playing with GIB some 18 months ago was GIB's propensity to hang partner for balancing. And it was supposed to have been fixed back then. But apparently not here. S did not double the first time, limiting values and making and call by GIB other than 2S a gross overbid.
