Matchpoints, ACBL robot individual
I previously reported this hand because of West's egregious duck at trick 7. It is also noteworthy because it displays what (in my observation) is a growing trend in robot cardplay - leading low from a doubleton. In addition, North recently lead 5 from Q52. When I failed to read it, the entire defense was blown. I'm aware of only one country that consistently leads low from a doubleton and it's not on this side of the Atlantic. The convention card says that the robot leads low from honor third and high from xxx against NT and says nothing about doubletons, so I'm concluding that these leads are not documented. Did I miss an announcement? It's bad enough when the robot throws away tricks itself (as in the display hand) but these eccentric leads make accurate defense impossible and defending generally a total snooze.

Hey, pretty rare to find any country at all that leads consistently, no matter in which style. FWIW Polish leads are reasonably popular here in Germany.

I don't care what lead system GIB uses, as long as it's indicated on his convention card, which it's currently not.

Maybe Gib K for count, Ace for attitude ?
Never mind, maybe do it occasionally - I think the things quite by accident.

Probably those book leads are only valid on opening lead. Once you get to trick 2, GIB uses random spot card leads, just like when following suit.
