He should be practising some active ethics here instead of shrugging "hey I wasn't dealt 5-5, I can only bid on the cards i have"



I saw that hearts were 5-0 but at least he could be 5-4 if not 5-5.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

think you should sue North Gib. it should redouble and penalize West's silly bid.

Probably with good opposition as defensive cards, like 4+ 4+ GIB would postpone a little 3NT over calls like X ( from passed hand ) or 2 ( any ) , both promising majors.
