Don't double with that hand please. It seems that doubles need a major overhaul in GIB. A lot of them are done completely randomly it seems and it can be frustrating to deal with.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Will be addressed what is the correct call in v34, but for sure it will be removed as option to double with such hand.

Is this another case where it's simply a matter of the wrong explanation being give? If GIB plays Lebensohl, shouldn't North's double be defined as penalty, not takeout? If so, aren't we happy to collect +500?

Whether to play the double as negative or penalties is rather independent of whether one plays Lebensohl or not. If you have some 4/2-/?? hand, you reasonably often want to compete for a partial, but you don't really have a single suit to sign off in. You have to make a choice between being able to compete on such hands, or being able to double & bar partner.

Lebensohl gives you a way to sign off with a minor one suiter, and show stopper information on game going hands; it doesn't really affect the penalty/takeout dilemma on non-one-suited hands only interested in a partial.
