IMP pairs, both vul, BBO randoms all around. Partner claims expert, if that matters.

Simple question, do you stay put in 5x or put partner back in 5?

Any other comments welcome also.

I would bid 5H

p didn't bid mike so i think he might be like 1/6/4/2 or something

I agree that hearts should be two cards longer than diamonds, but 6-4 really isn't enough. If he just wanted to show that he had his values for the 4 bid and expect the hand to be ours, he should have doubled.

Maybe 6-5 with very good hearts is possible, maybe 7-4 is. 7-5 is typical.

I held the OP hand and passed 5x, apparently an error.

Anyway, as you can see, there are three top losers in either 5 or 5. However, on the normal looking lead from Qxxx, declarer's club can be disposed. Now 5 is making, but 5 can be beaten with taps. At our table though, the defense did tap once but not the second time, and 5x also made. So I got 12 IMPs and a lecture about correcting.
