We now log all chat->tourney in team games and tournaments. We also log all "Broadcast" chat (only yellow names can issue broadcasts)

The latter will help us work out if we're abusing our own Broadcast facility. The former will be useful when dealing with some abuse issues.

I'm hoping we'll agree that chat->tourney is not in the category of 'Private' chat. Private chat is not logged.

Good job Uday

Does that include chat "to table" in tourneys too?

That's probably where most of the abuse goes,
especially rudeness and the "I'm leaving, you're
no good" happenings?

I was kibbing a tourney the other day where
one player told TD "if you don't adjust the score
on this or that board I leave the tourney"

He called TD to table 3 times in about 5-6 minutes.

Then he left the tourney.

Excellent, is this being announced to the general BBO population?

Logging tournament table chat would be great. When I am called to the table because someone said something it is difficult or impossible to resolve, as I can’t see previous chat messages. Getting players to capture screen prints and email abuse is not always feasible.

Phase 2 - TD’s can access table chat logs directly? :)

thanks

I think we should log all chat on this site. =)

It isnt enough of a change to current practice to warrant an announcement via lobby news.

The last time I ran a poll, opinion was divided between log and don't log. My current opinion is that we should log but I have not acted upon this opinion.

I think jilly's suggestion would be terrific IF directors COULD instantly "see" what has been said at the table (especially if abusive to any player at the table)

As a retired IT manager for a large corporation I can tell you that ANY chat on a computer you do not own, is NOT private!!!
