I don't play negative doubles this high, but I would double. Either we defend (and I do expect to beat 4♥) or partner bids, which should not be a terrible thing, since my double is not negative.

I am not thrilled at the prospect of playing in 5♦, but I didn't promise anything in diamonds.

Doubling will probably be horrible if partner bids 5D but I'd still do it. I'm quite happy if he passes, bids 4S, bids 4N, or bids 5C. I think him passing or bidding 4S will happen far more often than him bidding 5D even given our actual hand, if he happens to bid 4N or 5C that's just gravy.

I think whether you passed or Xed you cannot call yourself bad at bridge though, they both have huge potential to blow up in your face.

I do play neg x so its easier. Passing 4h is pretty much going to be a small result
UNLESS we happen to have a game and p cannot compete. The question is how many big
results can we get from x vs bad ones? It would appear bad results occur only when p
can do little other than bid dia but even then it is no guarantee to be bad.
That means there seems to be a ton of reward with not very much risk associated with x.
GO FOR IT and if p bids to (a non making) slam that's their fault.

Bad bridge is a pass or double with a break in tempo(fast or slow), taking into account the delay due to the skip bid warning(made or implied). Equally bad is to obviously look at watch, or for opponents to skip the warning then claim damage when you try to keep your delay in tempo.
I am not assuming "True Confessions."
