We have K9876 6542 JT Qx. RHO deals

(1H) p (2H) 3C
(3D) p (3H) x
(p) 4S (x)

So to summarize, RHO bid the reds, LHO made a simple raise and then hit us

LHO leads a small heart

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

Say the trump Q holds. Next play? Not saying you are wrong, but it is a mistake to consider any line of play without gaming the forking options that arise contingent on how the opps defend.

I didn't do any real analysis.. I just know kuhchung likes to play the occasional game of chess.
If the queen holds it looks straightforward. I'm playing RHO to be 1642. Three rounds of clubs pitching a diamond, DA, D-ruff, H-ruff, D-ruff, exit a heart. Now LHO has three trumps left and I have only two so he is bound to be endplayed on the next trick allowing me to score my king.

I tried it with lho holding 4333 and can't see a defense even if he wins and plays a trump back or a diamond. With careful play declarer still prevails.

I've played around with some variations where rho is 2542 and (say) ducking a diamond early but can't come up with a winning continuation.

We're missing 20 HCP's, heart honours are KJ - AQ, and RHO holds the A?
