Tough hands. I seriously doubt we have the power to make 3N, so I'm not bothering about stop asks. I'll opt for 4 on the grounds that it's the best description, and everything from now on must be NF. P can pass, correct to 4, try 4 with a decent 5-card suit, or raise me to 5m, and I'll pass any of the above. Not at all confident about it, though.

I accept the invitation. 5.

Some positive move seems clear.

Without complex agreements 5 seems like a practical choice.

IMO this would bea wtp pass not vul, andI think vul I won't risk it this time. If not passing 4 trial bid seems obvious.

This is not a bad hand on the auction. But it does not merit a game bid - yet. 4 is my choice. I will pass any minor suit bid partner makes over 4.

Bidding 4/4 or a straight 5 will get you to a decent game.

The point here is not to get carried away with all the bean-counting lore. If you rate this hand as "only 11 H" you'll probably pass (as about 1/3 the field did) and miss out on a red game.

I finally voted for 4 as passing just seemed too pessimistic. But I am close to passing but could envision too many hands PD could hold to make game if he has a max for his invite.

Partner's 3 bid was rather amateurish.

If I recall correctly, LHO had a 2 overcall, but didn't do it, probably because his suit quality was iffy.
