MP mixed field opps better than average

I have seen good players open a hand like this in this situation any number of spades from 1 to 4. Any level may work depending on the state of the game, the partnership style, the opponents, and, of course, the layout of the cards.

Personally, I think 3♠ is probably best in the long run.

IMNSHO ---One of those odd numbers= a Nigel 10; any even number= a Nigel 5. He is generous with his five's.

well I was feeling lucky so I opened 4s...

lefty bid 5h in a flash, p bid 5s and righty X also very quickly. I was fearing the worst but...





my lucky day :)

1♠ is canonical. 2/3/4♠ are a bit gambling.. can work, but can also backfire.
