I'm confused by this one. I don't see info on what continuations we're using, so I tried 3, which landed us in a cold 3N. Are we supposed to bid to 6 somehow?

you can use what you like. the easiest way is to bid 2 spades forcing, so partner bids 3. But you need to be used to play that.

at the table I bid 3, but reopened 3NT with 4, in the end I landed on 6 which is a terrible contract, but could make with good play. 6 is solid, but many players are going down somehow.

why isn't partner's 4 diamond bid preference? 3nt doesn't deny 3 card diamond support. in fact i dare say p could have 4 card diamond support with a sufficiently softly stocked hand in hearts and clubs.

Excellent play problem. And also a good bidding problem to try your NT system.

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

Is the NT system described somewhere? I saw some tips at the top, but mostly was just guessing both at my own bids and his.

I though the same as you, and so I played 6 with a lucky make. 4 should be 3 stablishing a fit. Partner was not on the same wavelength. Later on I regret not giving a shot at bidding 6 which should be a choice of slams.

When you offer clubs the bidding should be this:

4 = I have 3 diamonds
4M = I have 4+ clubs, control
4NT = STOP

I noticed in the results that someone made 6N, so I had a look. He set up the diamonds, and then after giving up a diamond, the defence led the only card to let it through lol.
