Match Points, LHO is the pro, but RHO is not bad. 3 promises extras

I do not care if this is pairs, to my mind dble is silly. We have 3 sure tricks against S but only 1 in NT and maybe none against a red suit. Allowing them some doubt about 4S seems to me a losing option. I pass and remain delighted I hope.

Now THIS double is outright silly since our red suit holdings are bad and we don't expect partner's to be great. Our defense to 4N is pretty bad too.

I would be very happy with +100 or 150 vs 4.

The 'pro' is not necessarily done with the auction just yet.

He may run to 4N over double, and we are probably not beating that, and he may even run to 5. After all, his 3N might have been a grab of dummy on some 0=5=4=4 or 1=5=4=3 with good clubs.

Otoh, the pro isn't going to be taking the client back to diamonds if we pass, and won't be bidding 4N since that would almost surely elicit a keycard response :D

Take the money and pass.

Are your SURE you can beat any runout at least 2 tricks x (since
setting it down 1 x might be worse than our expected plus in spades).

The opps have settled for 3n but we really have no clue how close they are
to inviting slam so to x here is more of a las vegas maneuver or one born
of desperation.

pass

This is such an obvious pass that I am surprised it is even posed as a question.

Do I really expect 4X to stay as the final contract?

Pass!

It looks like the opponents are in a bad spot. You know it, but they don't necessarily know it.

I'd expect the pro will probably bid on, but if you speak, you give up the chance to have the pro make a mistake by passing.

Odd auction. I wonder what it means? Does RHO actually have the other seven in the deck or just six? If just six, why bid them now with a bad KQ empty suit? If KQ empty seventh, what was the 3 bid all about?

Time to make sure 4 is not some sort of weird convention by asking. If not, might as well double for a lead on the off chance partner has one. It might confuse the opponents on their way to a or or NT contract. Best case, partner may have the rest of a misfit hand sewed up and can double the final contract.

Passing is the percentage bid only if you assume the customer made a colossal error, AND the pro has the other and sits with a pass. Customer dummy hogs are rare. Pro dummy hogs abound.

I doubling this sort of auctions much more than most people, but on this hand with absolutely no defense to any other contract, I'll take it in 50s.

I passed for -3 and an average, 4NT would had been 1 off.
