Tempted to say unlucky. Partner's hand is monstrously strong opposite yours, and you've rightsided against a H lead. But I'm finding it quite hard to construct 16-counts opposite that don't have a play for game and that don't look like a hand that someone constructed to be a no-play game.

A 7 card suit headed by the K and you sign off in 2S? Ye Gods and little fishes. That is not unlucky, just unbelievably bad.

FFS, is it so hard to start out with an actual argument rather than abusing whichever forum member is in your crosshairs this month? This sort of comment is a toxic detriment to the entire forum.

11 tricks?, I see at least 1 loser on each suit!

If opponent realices how bad a K underlead is you won't make 4 when you have a second spade loser, and also when you find KQ offside, so it is not a great game really.

Still west is almost worth a 3 bid, and I think he would be worth it if he had Qx on any other suit, but having it in hearts just sucks, so 2 is fine IMO.

I know it is MP reading the siggy of Eagles123.

I think it is unlucky. W has 7222 hand with Qx value in the suit of his LHO and pretty much nothing else except K. We can argue that W could have done more but bidding just 2 is reasonable if not the best option for me. It is not a great game at MP anyway.

Where is the abuse? The guy made a bid, he asked about it and I responded that it was unbelievably bad, which it was. He bid a 7 card suit headed by the K the same way as a 5332 zero count. You just blast these hands.

IMO At IMPs, game is excellent and West underbid.
  • 1N - 4 (TFR) - 4 = 10.
  • 1N - 2 (TFR) (Double) Pass (Pass) 3 = 9 (but 10 at MPs).
  • 1N - 2 (TFR) (Double) Pass (Pass) 2 = 7.

Mis-evaluated by West. His hand is good enough for an invite.
