Vs BBO randoms.

What now? Other than that 2 was probably Stayman, you have no agreements.

I don't like double. Partner, sitting over the spade bidder, could not hit 2. He may interpret my double as showing a willingness to defend opposite a 1NT overcall which can't make a unilateral double of 2.

2NT gets the message across - I don't want to defend 2 but it is our hand.

3NT. I got the HCP and opener is sandwiched. Wtp?

If something maybe 3 asking for backup in spades, but opposite a random I wouldn't do that.

IMO 3N = 10, 3 = 8, Double = 6, 2N = 5.

Normally, when one opponent holds all of the opponent's strength, a hand is easier to declare. You know where all the high cards are, and you can endplay the opp with all of the high cards.

This is not one of those hands. With LHO marked with 6+ spades, all he will do when he gets in is play spades and, eventually, cash spades. This will not be good for our side.

So, as I said above, I am not forcing to game. 2NT adequately describes my hand on this bidding.

Hmmm.... My keen analytical mind tells me I have 9 HCP along with a useful 10 and a useful 9. Our combined HCP total should be 24 to 27 HCP. No five card suit in my hand. LHO is trapped with most of the opponents high cards and may be endplay bait. Playing a 4-4 fit (should it exist) seems oh so wrong, esp after the 2 bid.

So, we are right on the borderline between bidding 2NT and 3NT. W/o knowledge of the skills of my partner and opponents, I think 2NT seems better. With a good partner versus two mullets, 3NT for sure as LHO may turn out to be easily end played or fooled by a good declarer.
