Why no competitions for which you need to Qualify?

Hello all,

Is there any or have there ever been any competitions on BBO for which you need to qualify for beforehand ?

This way you could play in tougher competitions

Well it's kinda late, but you can try the SportAccord World Mind Games Online Competition:

There are contests and tourneys with qualifying phases every now and then, but it's hard to reach people and tell them they exist in the first place.

I don't know there would be much interest in multi-stage competition.

We can try some and find out. Maybe I'm totally wrong.
