watching this match now. A huge problem is even the experts don't understand the bidding, this turns off a large public.

When you only have 900 people watching a match and even the experts don't understand the bidding you have an issue.

The systems are actually pretty natural. It's just that the commentators are not all great.

Besides, until the bridge authorities stop giving the pots of money they raise to fund the lavish expenses of the vast array of officials and their spouses, there is little or no incentive for players to cater to the needs of Joe Public.

Let's face it: Bridge is not really a spectator sport.
Even with better information available I doubt that you will often be able to understand and appreciate real time what inferences were available in a match between two expert pairs and which not.
Besides negative and positive inferences style and treatments matter a lot.
I also think we can not on the one hand deplore the bidding restrictions set up by the bridge authorities and then complain that we do not fully understand what is going on in a top level match.

Brink-Drijver is one of the pairs playing for Diamond. While their general approach is natural, they play an enormous amount of home-made gadgets.

Unfortunately we could not watch the final Monaco vs Mazurkiewicz, especially 18y old Michal Klukowski playing old Polish Club ( everybody understands) and beating high the Superstars already after the 2nd quarter.

I think he is the youngest player (born 1996) who has ever won WC title in Open Teams, or?

Great Tournament by him. Congratulations.
