Overbid and overwhelmed GIB Basic

Basic GIB overbid by 2 HCP, and along with my slight overbid, put us into 4NT which on the ♥ lead is only makeable double-dummy.


On this one, I am glad that GIB re-transfered, but wonder why GIB bid 4♥ when it didn't have the right HCP count.

This doesn't look like any overbid by you... what's the point of having a 2N second bid show exactly 13HCP or 22+, with 3N showing 14-21? And, to beat my current-favorite dead horse, the major suit descriptions in the explanation of 3N stink.

I don't mean to put anyone down but I can't help but wonder, as bad as the advanced GIBs are why does anyone bother play with the basic ones?
