MP, best hand South, 55% robot rebate, Pro GIB v 30.

I am still not sure whether I misplayed this for one-off. At IMP it is a no-brainer. Take the diamond finesse, because if it works then you make, and going more than one off in the attempt means nothing. Instead I conceded a club, in the hope that the D finesse was failing, which would also potentially gain if there was a heart blockage. Anyway, the D finesse works and the hearts aren't blocked and the rest is history. Not that making 3N on the nose was going to gain me a huge swing against those who managed to avoid a heart lead by not showing the splinter.

But of course the bidding is the reason for the post.

For once I did not psych, but had EXACTLY what GIB said I had: 5+ Diamonds, 3- Spades, 1- Hearts, 14+ total points.

Opener has a Diamond in reserve for his opening bid and Axx of Hearts opposite 1-, and an expected Heart lead at trick 1. 6-minor is on a finesse (barring outside chance of ruff).

Would it do the same at IMP?
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mPosted ImagesPosted ImagetPosted Imager-mPosted ImagendPosted Imageing) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.
