Finding a 4-4 fit in RHO's 5 card major

The contract made... but the choice to place the contract in a 4-4 fit with a known 5-0 break seems questionable.

Why did you bid 2S if you don't have any interest in playing a 4-4 spade fit in RHOs 5 card suit?

Perhaps I was overestimating the ability of the robot, but I bid 2S to suggest 3NT as a better contract than 4/5m.

How about because when he is asked a question he likes to answer it accurately, so that partner doesn't take inferences based on an inaccurate answer?
