There are many such auctions where a bid has an enormous range. I suppose that's ok in LOTT auctions but here i would really like to know if 4♣ is enough or I should look for slam.

I guess 3♣ would have shown exactly 5C with 12-22

Possibly the way that it thinks is that with 22 total points opposite the upper limit of 10 for partner, you (just) do not want to be in 5C while the lower limit is bound by the opening bid definition.
