Your call? Do you then plan to pass NF bids throughout?

(eta) to clarify the second question, I mean whatever your call here, do you intend to pass any non-forcing bids your partner makes, or might you for eg pull if you land in 4Sx?

I think this is irrelevant. If it's strong and not necessarily long trumps pd will have a stack. If it's long trumps, which is likely then passing 4h at these colors can hardly be a winner in long run IMHO.

To my unqualified eye, the second question means that if either a) opps bid 5H directly or b) partner bids something (4S, 5 of a minor) and opps compete to 5H, or c) partner bids anything other than 5H, do you intend to pass?

The answer is yes. I'm much happier about defending 5H than 4H.

I think the OP was wondering that if you acted (X, 4NT, 5♦) now and partner bids (4♠, 5♣) do you pass (and do you Pass if opponents double).

Best to pull slowly to 4NT.

Agreed completely and note also that you'd be pulling a 10 trick contract to an 11 trick contract.

Pulling 4♠X after doubling here would threaten partnership stability for me.

You make your bed when you X here and now you have to lie in it.
