I don't actually want to get into the immigration issue but Becky noticed graffiti proclaiming "No illeagles".
At the Y, after a "send a kid to camp" drive, the kids posted thank you signs saying "You are our angles". But these were kids. But there was more than one such sign, so I suppose there was adult supervision.
PS, the subtitle here, Situation hopeless but not serious was an Alec Guinness movie of the 60s. I saw it in a drive-in!. It's a great story about two yanks who get shot down over Germany late in the war. Alec Guinness (as a German!) hides them in his cellar but he is a lonely old guy and never tells them that the war is over.
