In an ideal world you could invite in diamonds somehow, if parnter rejected I doubt 3N would be very good. If your methods do not allow that then just bidding 3N is definitely better than signing off in 3D.

Everyone is acting as if the opponents are not at the table.
I would bid 3♦ to play - ostensibly preemptive. On the vast majority of hands, 3♦ will be your best contract. It also makes it more difficult for your opps to get into the auction. They have 16-18 HCP - if they have some distribution, they may have a playable contract.
If you have to bid 2♠ to get to 3♦, this is an annoyance. It allows the opps to double to get into the auction. But if that is the way it is, you don't have any choice.

Well, we got 22-24 hcp so I doubt opponents can get into the auction easily. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

12=14 nt do not easily allow for minor suit invites since by their
nature it is unusual for them to have al suits stopped anyway. A
direct 3n here seems best ay IMPS since 5d is a long way off even
if 3n has no play. While 3d rates to be a safer contract, going for
the game bonus seems right at IMPS.
St MP a direct bid of 3n is reasonable but another good idea is
2N. The main reason for the invite is it keeps us in the best scoring
contract even if opener declines the invite. Trying to play in 3d at
MP just seems wrong and such a tactic would be much better served at
