Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

I forgot to explain 2 Clubs shows 18-20 with a one-suited hand.

Just bid 5 immediately.

Invariably, the ox on the left just trots out their suit at the five level, which is exactly what you want.

So, he would be an oxy moron?

BTW, I would bid 5D over 2H also...but not positive it is a sacrifice. Certainly am not fond of 3D, then 5D, with any holding.

This can easily go for 800. I'll just pass.

Only true in a weak game.
But I agree, if you are tempted to bid 5 now, you should have done it on the previous round.

People who play that system are usually weak. B-)

I (perhaps falsely) assumed partner's 2D bid to look different than your partner's 2D bid in this situation.

Certainly the opps are in a GF sequence after 2 on this auction. I am a very strong believer in either bidding 5 over 2 or never bidding it.

Yes, at RED, that is exactly what I am saying. 2D takes up no room; Partner knows Opener will be bidding 4M; and, there would be no earthly reason to bid 2D except to encourage partner to bid at the 5-level.

It appears natural, but agree I want to know, and would ask immediately.

If it has not been alerted, you know that it's a mistake to ask, right?

Well, LHO has a strong 2 and RHO bid over 2... since I got 10, I don't think pard can have much.

Just pretend you are playing 1$/2$ poker and raise the size of the pot. Nobody playing "Benji" will come up with the correct counter (if there is one) more than one time in two.
