Playing in an ACBL IMP Pairs Robot game, I held:

It was an easy auction, and the contract was cold. But not for any reason that I would have anticipated until I saw my "partner's" hand.

After I saw my "partner's" hand, I clicked on the 2NT bid to get an explanation, just in case I had missed something. The explanation was "11-13 HCP, stop in ." Well, I guess as far as it goes, the explanation was accurate. But should it also say "less than 9 spades?"

Horrid 2N bid by Gib. 2N is not forcing, with 4 a good bet if overcaller has A or even a side King and a

and with such a great dummy 6 is on a finesse

Sarcasm is a state of mind

I don't think that the actual result was the point of my post. But since you mentioned it, 6 is 100% (barring an opening ruff). 7 is a very good contract - not by taking the diamond finesse, but by setting up the diamonds.

6NT is 100% on any lie of the cards.

Obviously it is a wrong bid for Gib N's 2nt.
At balancing seat,Gib N should jump bid 3,it is forcing with GF.

"balancing seat" means that there have been two passes in front of you, and if you pass the auction is over.
